Instructions for First Time Web Browsers
Congratulations for making it this far! Once you understand how a
web site works, you are well on your way to exploring any web site. It's really that
simple.
To help you on your way, there are a few basic commands you need to
know.
-
INDEX FINGER SYMBOL - Whenever you see the symbol of a hand with
the index finger pointing, this means there is more information available on the topic the
finger is pointing to. Simply click with your left mouse button and you will automatically
go to additional information. To return to the previous page, either use the
"Back" key at the top of your screen, or click on the right mouse button when
the mouse is anywhere on the current page. This will give you the option of going back one
page.
-
BUTTONS - Buttons take you directly to the information cited on
the button. Simply put your cursor on the text in the button, the index finger symbol will appear.
Click and you are linked directly to a new page, which means that the new page will come
up on your screen. The "HOME" button will always return you to the first page of
this web site.
-
COLORED UNDERLINED TEXT - Anytime a word or phrase is in colored type
and underlined, this is a direct link either to information on this web site or a link to
another site. Place your cursor over the set of colored underlined words, click on the left
mouse button and you'll be linked to that page.
-
PRINTING - Use the command button at the top of your screen to print pages
from our web site. Always wait until a page is completely loaded (is on your screen)
before you try to print it, or you will print only that portion of the information that
was loaded when you hit the print command. Heavy usage of the internet or pages that are
graphic intensive often take longer to load. The speed of your modem and computer also
impact loading time.
***Before printing, you may also need to click on the part of the screen where the page you want to print is located.
