NEWSLETTER

NEW OFFICE LOCATION AND TELEPHONE

During the last two weeks of February, IIBA moved its office. Because of the move we were without telephone or fax service for some time. If you tried to reach us and could not, we apologize. Circumstances beyond our control prevented us from having calls forwarded to our new telephone number for 10 days. Now, all calls to our old number automatically come to our new number so we should not miss your call. The need to move the office became known to us after the Conference 2001 brochures were printed. We are profoundly unhappy about this and apologize. We did the best we could under difficult conditions. Sorry if you were inconvenienced.

MEMBERSHIP ADDRESSES

We are aware that the mailing of Conference 2001 brochures demonstrated major flaws in IIBA's ability to communicatewith our membership. We regret that the brochures did not get to the total membership in a timely and efficient process. To the best of our knowledge we had the following problems:

1. Mistakes were made in printing the mailing labels so that not all the correct addresses we have were printed. This gave us many labels with incomplete addresses.

2. We are still lacking a complete and accurate listing of addresses for the total membership. Some of the mistakes that were made are the same mistakes that are present in the 2000 Directory.  Some of these published mistakes have never been corrected.  It may be we or you thought these corrections had been made, but they were not.

3. In some cases we have not received your CURRENT dues. This may be because you were not billed or because of an address error or other problem.  In some cases Societies have reported other individual issues to us and we will work with you on this matter.  If others have problems that have not been addressed, please contact us and we will work to resolve it.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

With a new office and new office staff, IIBA is making a concerted effort to make sure our membership mailing list is complete and accurate. Please bear with us during this process as we will ask for your information and help. We will take steps to make sure that any time the list is used to print mailing labels that will contain the complete information available to us. We thank all of you who have sent corrections to us during the past few months. We ask those who have not returned Corrected Membership Information data sheets to us that you do so at this time. Please, print or type them so that they are legible to our office staff. We ask each Society to make sure that we have a complete listing of all members and all trainees and that CURRENT dues are collected and paid. No late penalties will apply this year.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Over the past months and perhaps years, communication among and between IIBA and our Societies, Members, Federations has been in need of improvement. This issue is CORE to us and we intend to improve things. We have created a Communications Committee Chaired by Maryse Doess from France. Maryse and her group of volunteers have been translating all of our materials for us giving importance to the different cultures and languages essential to be considered in an International organization. Now she and we are working on other Communications issues. Please feel free to write to our office and/or Maryse. As time passes let us know how we are doing. A lot more will be shared about our plans, programs, Workshop offerings, Leadership Training Programs. etc. in coming months.

THANKS AND APPRECIATION

To speed up the mailing process, many members of the Board of Trustees helped with the mailing of the brochures by transporting them to Europe, South America and Canada. We are most grateful for this extra work and the additional work of correcting the incomplete addresses on the mailing labels. Thank you, we appreciate your help!

                                                                                                    FEEDBACK FROM THE OFFICE

Many members have complained in the past that your e-mail, phone, and fax messages have not been answered or questions responded to. With our new office, exclusively committed to serving the IIBA membership, and with new office staff, I am committing to you that we will respond to your questions and concerns promptly. Our goal is to respond, at least initially to all inquiries within one business day. Your call may be answered by a recording, if we are on another call, but a person will respond to you as soon as possible. My home telephone number is 203-387-9415. Let me hear it if you don't get the service you expect.

WEB SITE

During the past year we were working with a firm to create a new Web site for IIBA that would provide a full and complete calendar of events and a compete membership listing for the public to access. Just before this site was to go live on March 1, the firm told us that it was going out of business. It, along with hundreds of other web-related firms in early 2001, had its financial backers withdraw the capital necessary for it to continue operations. This is a worldwide phenomenon caused by the collapse of the stock prices of web-related companies throughout 2000. We had chosen this firm because it was committed to serving associations, such as ours, and the service would not cost anything. We are now aggressively seeking a new firm to work with to provide us this service. In the meantime, we will commit the resources necessary to make IIBA's present site (www.bioenergetic-therapy.com) serve our needs the best that the site is able  The site will be up-dated on no less than a monthly basis beginning in March 2001, with events, news, and Conference 2001 updates, as they become known.

SINCERE APOLOGY AND COMMITMENT

While the past months have been quite chaotic, as far the IIBA office is concerned, we are committed to making the new office serve all members with efficiency and grace. I apologize for the past inconveniences and commit to you that you will be proud of the services we provide from our new location with our new staff.

Please note, however, that this is a dormitory-like arrangement, and includes only breakfast. Lunch and dinner are not included in this charge. The Collegio Rosimini is not listed on the Registration Form, so please note this on the form if it is your preference. Other accommodations such as single rooms and triple rooms are in limited supply and will be provided on a 1st come basis. Extra day accommodations are available if desired at an added cost of $100.00 per day (double accommodation).

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL VILLA CARLOTTA
